People who have had to flee their home lands due to persecution may live or work just down the street from where you may live or work.
I met a lady who manages a convience store just down the street from my apartment who is from Cairo, Egypt. She had to flee Cairo some years back due to the persecution that she had to endure as a result of being a Christian.
